Monica Lee-Müller will become a Deputy Managing Director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd. (HML) in February 2007.

She will succeed Joanne Davis who last month announced her departure from HKCEC at the end of February.

HML Managing Director Cliff Wallace said, “It is gratifying that we can fill this important executive position from within HML, the HKCEC’s professional management company, and do so with a long term staff member of Monica’s caliber.  Monica knows and understands our clients and staff. She has proven her ability to develop business and lead the staff through her experience within and knowledge of the industry.  She has clearly shown executive leadership skills in all of the HKCEC’s management and operational areas.”

Ms Lee-Müller joined the HKCEC in February 1994 as a sales manager in the Marketing & Sales Department.  Subsequently, she held positions as Convention Sales Manager and Exhibition & Convention Sales Manager.

She became Marketing and Sales Manager in 1999. She has served as HKCEC’s Director of Business Development since February 2004.

Ms Lee-Müller has been involved in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and has actively promoted and booked corporate, convention & exhibition business since 1989.

Before joining the HKCEC in 1994, she held a number of senior positions in various international hotels in Hong Kong and was a member of the opening team of the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, ultimately serving as Convention Manager, where she established and managed one of the earliest convention services operations in Hong Kong.

Ms Lee-Müller is currently a Vice Chair of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Hong Kong Chapter. She has served as a mentor at the Hong Kong University SPACE Community College since 2003.
