While Donald was firing his latest Apprentice hopefuls from season four of the popular reality NBC television show, 15 of his former “Apprenti” cast were dishing out their own advice for success in business aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s Trump World Legend, as part of an 8-day theme cruise charter and lecture series sponsored by Expedia.com and Trump World Magazine.

The Apprentice Legend Cruise, which sailed round-trip from NYC to San Juan, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico had more than 2,000 passengers, Apprentice enthusiasts and aspiring business entrepreneurs onboard—all of which came to participate in a myriad of custom Apprentice events, contests where guests won more than $40K in cash and prizes, and more than a week of business lectures, dubbed the “Millionaire’s Forum.”

“Our primary goal was to create a successful business lecture series at sea,” said Richelle Taylor, president of Promo Strategies who was contracted by Expedia.com as Director of Operations for the charter.  "We aimed to attract individuals who are not only fans of the show, but those who are successful corporate executives or entrepreneurs—and we did just that,” she added.

Six former cast members of The Apprentice spoke on variety of topics during intimate Q&A and panel discussion formats. In addition, there were also four general keynote lectures throughout the week including influential business people from varying industries.

“The attendance and response from the guests was outstanding,” Taylor said. “We offered educational, business content in a relaxed atmosphere and I believe the cruise ship environment enabled people to enjoy the lectures more than had they been held in a hotel ballroom or convention center.”

Keynote speakers and topics were:

“Inside a Multi-Billion $$ Empire” by Bernard Diamond, general counsel for Donald Trump

“Inside the World of Trump Publishing” by Michael Jacobson, editor & publisher of Trump World Magazine

“Silicon CEO – Making Millions with your Ideas” by Guatam Godhwani, CEO of Simply Hired

“Big Profits through Guerilla Marketing” by Al Lautenslager, co-author of the book Guerilla Marketing in 30 days

Q&A and Panel Discussions were:

“The Road to The Apprentice: Motivational speech about perseverance through life” by Troy McClain, cast Season 1

“What it Takes: Speak up, Step up, Move Up” by Amy Henry, cast Season 1

“Secrets to Winning Sales” by Nick Warnock, cast Season 1

“The Art of Living Well” by Raj Bhakta, cast Season 2

“Woman in Franchising: 5 Steps to Success” by Stacie Jones, cast Season 2

“Project Management and The Apprentice by Danny Kastner, cast Season 3

“Building a Successful Entrepreneurial Venture” panel discussion with cast from Seasons 1, 2, & 3

“Keys to Climbing the Corporate Ladder” panel discussion with cast from Seasons 1, 2, & 3

In addition to these speaking engagements, there were also two lighthearted panel discussions with the cast and audience members to discuss “Life after The Apprentice” and find out some of the behind the scenes gossip from the show.

The cruise also included an “Entrepreneur’s Dream Contest,” courtesy of sponsor simplyhired.com, an online job search tool.  From more than 100 business plans that were submitted prior to the cruise, 10 finalists were selected, and while onboard,  had to present a 2 minute elevator pitch to Simply Hired’s CEO, Gautam Godhwani. Two winners received first-class, round trip air for two to San Francisco, a private cocktail patty and dinner with top venture capitalists and other entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley.

One of the highlight games of the week was “The Apprentice Legend Challenge” where 32 passengers competed in a competition of tasks, based on the TV show in order to win $15K and become Expedia.com’s CEO for a Day. In addition, there was a 3-day Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament with winnings of $13K, a celebrity golf tournament at Mahogany Run in St. Thomas, with a $15K Hole in One prize, four raffles for Trump and Oceanaut watches and more.

The charter, which sailed September 26-October 4, 2005, was kicked off in legendary Trump style with a media conference and bon voyage celebration hosted by Donald Trump and co-star George Ross.
