Global Spectrum, *the fastest growing firm in the public assembly management field* and operator of the Overland Park Convention Center, promoted Michael Young to Director of Events of the 237,000-sq. ft. Overland Park Convention Center.

Young will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the facility’s event services programs and the delivery of outstanding customer service.

“During his time with Global Spectrum, Michael has demonstrated outstanding organizational skills, leadership abilities and a focus on superior customer service. He will make an outstanding addition to our team,” said Global Spectrum’s Kelvin D. Moore, CMP, General Manager of the Overland Park Convention Center.

Young joined Global Spectrum at Kemper Arena and American Royal Center in 2001 as Event Manager and then was promoted to Senior Event Manager in 2004. Prior to joining Global Spectrum, Young was Client Services Representative at Ticketmaster LLC.

Young also spent two years (1998-2000) as Event Coordinator at the Kansas City Convention and Entertainment Centers, Bartle Hall and Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO.
