Manchester Takes Conference Battle ‘On The Road’

Home

The team behind Manchester’s booming conference scene is taking their quest for more business to Windsor, Leeds and Birmingham.

Here, they will meet with local conference and events organisers and outline exactly why Manchester is the place to do business.

Aptly named ‘Meet Manchester’, the events will take place as follows:

  • The Windsor Grill, Windsor on Friday 18th January 2008
  • Shimla Pinks, Birmingham on Friday 25th January 2008
  • Room Restaurant, Leeds on Friday 1st February 2008

The lunchtime events will provide an opportunity for conference and events organisers to meet the conference team and hear about Manchester’s ever-growing, and more imaginative, list of venues.

Catherine Walker, head of conference and business tourism for Visit Manchester, said: “Securing conference business for the city is a full time job. We don’t just sit at our desks waiting for the phone to ring. We’re a very proactive team.

Manchester has secured some amazing conference wins in the past few years. Not least of all, five major political party conferences that will take place before the end of 2011. You don’t win that kind of business for nothing. Manchester has earned its reputation and it’s our job to make sure we keep it intact.”

There are only 30 places at each event. These will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. All guests must pre-register and be in possession of an official confirmation to gain entry.
