Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. is waiving all penalties and cancellation fees through Sept. 27. After that date, the cancellation policy for firms directly affected by the tragedy will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Hilton Hotels Corp. announced it will waive group cancellation fees through Oct. 31. Cancellation fees, no-shows and early departure fees will be waived for individual travel through Sept. 30. After those dates, each cancellation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The 581-room Hilton Millenium in lower Manhattan remains closed.

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts said 85 percent of its meetings business has canceled for September since last week's attack. The chain also said its waiver of any cancellation fees will remain in effect until Oct. 12. After that, each request will be considered individually. Marriott International is waiving cancellation fees at New York City properties through Sept. 26 and the rest of the world through Sept. 30; the company did not say if the policy is different for groups vs. leisure travel.
