Long Beach Convention Bureau Celebrates 25th Anniversary With Top Honors
This past year the Bureau won six prestigious meeting trade awards, the most awards ever won in a single year.

As it enters its 25th year of service to the city, the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau has a lot to celebrate.

 

In the past decade Long Beach has transformed into a premiere international destination for conventions, meetings and tourism, and the city has earned a reputation for offering the highest level of customer service.

 

This past year the Bureau won six prestigious meeting trade awards, the most awards ever won in a single year. In addition, the City of Long Beach picked up some significant recognition as well.

 

These six major industry awards carry special important since they are voted on by professional meeting planners through “un-aided” recall. Winning in this “top-of-mind” voting is a direct reflection of the extra effort Long Beach puts into providing the highest level of customer service.

 

The awards presented to Long Beach include:

 

·         “Elite Hall of Fame” - MeetingsØ & Conventions Magazine - Awarded upon winning a twelfth consecutive “Gold Service Award,” this prestigious honor is a permanent recognition of extraordinary customer service

·         “2007 Gold Service Award” Meetings & Conventions Magazine - Twelfth consecutive win

·         “Pinnacle Award” - Successful Meetings Magazine - Fourth consecutive win

·         “Planners’ Choice Award” - Meeting News Magazine - Fourth consecutive win

·         “Award of Excellence” - Corporate & Incentive Travel Magazine - Second win

·         “World Class Award” - Insurance & Financial Management Meetings Magazine - First win

 

The Long Beach CVB’s newly launched Web site, www.visitlongbeach.com, also won two prestigious awards from the Web Marketing Association:

 

·         “Hotel & Lodging Standard of Excellence”

·         “Marketing Standard of Excellence”

 

During the past ten years, the City of Long Beach has invested over one billion dollars in its downtown waterfront, transforming the city into a first-class convention and tourism destination, and the change is receiving a wide range of industry accolades.
