At this year’s EIBTM in November, LOG ON, the winner of last year’s World Wide Technology Watch competition, in partnership with Mission Event Software will enhance participants’ experience by providing a unique service.

The winning product, the Mobile Event Assistant – or Mobile Exhibition Assistant for trade shows, will be able to meet visitors and exhibitors needs for event information, communication and interaction through their own mobile phone, PDA or laptop during EIBTM.

The Mobile Exhibition Assistant has been designed based on the research of the actual needs of event participants.

Through this service, EIBTM exhibitors and Hosted Buyers can quickly access their personal appointment schedule, search for exhibitors, view the seminar listings, and check the shuttle bus timetable as well as obtain information on transport, travel and hotel information in Barcelona.

Mandy Torrens, Exhibition Director for EIBTM comments: “Our partnership with LOG ON is very exciting as we are now able to offer an enhanced experience to all our exhibitors and visitors thanks to information being available literally at their finger tips. The World Wide Technology Watch competition rewards great technological solutions and when we came across The Mobile Event Assistant we knew it was an innovative idea with very strong potential for the meetings industry and are excited to be able to offer this service for the first time this year.”

Johan Bax, Director of LOG ON, said “After winning the EIBTM WorldWide Technology Watch Award last year we are delighted to be able to introduce our service at EIBTM with our sales agent, Mission Event Software, so all participants can experience its capabilities and benefits. Our vision is that in the next few years mobile technology will play an increasingly important role in improving efficiency and interactivity of meetings worldwide - so we are very proud to be at the forefront of introducing this technology in the meetings industry!”

The Mobile Exhibition Assistant service is available to all exhibitors, hosted buyers and visitors using a mobile phone or PDA connected to the Internet. Service registration will start by e-mail a few weeks before the show, and participants will also have the opportunity to sign up during the show. A Mobile Exhibition Assistant support desk will be available at the LOG ON stand O512.

EIBTM will take place from 27th-29th November 2007, in Barcelona (venue: Fira Gran Via).
