In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the future success and promise of the New Orleans tourism industry largely depends on the drive and expertise of the New Orleans hospitality community.

The members of the industry are presently moving forward in re-establishing themselves as the world’s best event producers in the world’s most entertaining city.

With many challenges ahead, New Orleans’ most progressive destination management company, Destination New Orleans (DNO) is taking the proactive, first step in bringing together the entire hospitality community for some post-Katrina healing, networking and reconnecting.

In an effort to re-establish contacts, re-connect with friends and formulate strategies to move forward, DNO will partner with Sun Ray Grill to sponsor the “New Orleans Hospitality Hospital” event on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Sun Ray Grill at 1051 Annunciation St., New Orleans, LA.

The event will feature an open bar with storm inspired libations, great Sun Ray food and live entertainment from Randy Hebert and “The Feeder Band”. Proceeds from the $10 co-payment will go to the New Orleans Tourism Rebirth Fund established by the New Orleans Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (NOMCVB).

DNO president Nancy Trosclair, DMCP, wants to begin the healing process and move forward:

“The landscape of the New Orleans hospitality industry has changed. In turn, we must adapt to the challenges of marketing our city and be ready to serve the influx of conventions when they return.”

“It’s time for those of us who have the will, the strength and the means to do what we can to bring our beloved city back to its former greatness… Destination New Orleans is committed to doing what it can to help in the rebuilding process. We will apply our award winning marketing skills to broadcast to the world that New Orleans is coming back, better and stronger than ever.“
