Vince Alberta is the new vice president of public affairs for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).

In this position, he is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the LVCVA’s public affairs policies, objectives, and initiatives. Alberta also will serve as a spokesperson for the organization.

Alberta has 15 years of experience in public relations. Previously, he was the public information manager for the Southern Nevada Water Authority and the Las Vegas Valley Water District. In that capacity, he oversaw all communication functions and outreach activities for the organizations.

Prior to the Water District, Alberta worked at Sprint, Nevada Power Company and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Before working in public relations, Alberta accumulated 16 years of journalism experience as a reporter and anchor covering news and sporting events. His journalism career included work in television, radio and newspaper.

Alberta graduated from UNLV with a master’s degree in public administration. He graduated magna cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colo.

Alberta has earned national accreditation through Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and served as assembly delegate for three years at the PRSA international conference.
