Sir Christopher Bland, Chairman of the Board of British Telecom described the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) as "Fantastic, astonishing, excellent" during his presentation at the 'Global Leadership Forum' which was held at the Centre on September 6th and 7th 2005.

 

Sir Christopher went on to say that, "The Centre is outstanding and is equivalent or better than others I have worked in, in Britain and the U.S".

 

The Global Leadership Forum attracted prominent figures from all over the world whose speakers included; Joseph Stiglitz - 2001 Nobel Prize winner and World Bank's former chief economist; Neil Armstrong - U.S Astronaut and the first man on moon; Bill Rancic - winner of the first season of The Apprentice reality TV show, Chin Ning Chu - Master strategist and authority on Sun Tzu's Art of War and Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad - Prime Minister of Malaysia from 1981 until 2003. CNN personality, Lorraine Hahn was MC of the function, which was attended by 1,200 leading figures of the Malaysian based business community.

 

Speaking on behalf of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Mr. Peter Brokenshire, General Manager said, "The Centre is honoured to host this Forum with a cast of global celebrities. This event demonstrates the Centre's capabilities to host international meetings of this calibre and it is most heartening that the quality is recognised in this way by very experienced international speakers".
