The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is set to open its doors in June 2005. It is located in the park overlooking the landmark 88-storey PETRONAS Twin Towers in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC).

 

This 100 acre development precinct is in the central business district of Kuala Lumpur and one of the largest real-estate developments in the world.

 

Ultimately the area will provide 1.67 million square metres of commercial, retail, hotel, convention, residential and entertainment facilities within a park setting.

 

The Convention Centre is purpose built for international, regional and local conventions, trade-shows, exhibitions, entertainment events and private functions and equipped with the latest in wireless telecommunications and digital audio-visual facilities and a five star in house catering service.

 

It also offers:

·        Plenary Hall with seating for 3,000

·        Plenary Theatre with tiered seating for 500 participants

·        Five Exhibition Halls totalling 9,710 square metres of column free space

·        Grand Ballroom to accommodate 2,380 delegates theatre style or 2,000 guests for a banquet

·        Conference Hall for 1,800 delegates which can divide to form three halls to seat 500, 770 and 510 delegates respectively

·        Banquet Hall to seat up to 740 people theatre style and 600 for banquets

·        20 meeting rooms to accommodate 43 to 224 delegates

·        Other facilities include; VIP rooms, Media Rooms, Business Centre, Bridal Suites, Dressing Rooms, Prayer Rooms, Concierge and Luggage Rooms, Medical Centre, Parenting Rooms, Audio-visual production rooms, Galleria; including selection of food and restaurants, travel agent and bureau de change, Car Parking for 500

 

The Kula Lumpur City Centre is also home to:

·        Mandarin Oriental Hotel – 643 rooms, Impiana Hotel - 348 rooms opening 4th quarter 2005, Traders Hotel – 643 rooms opening 2nd quarter 2006
