Thousands of exposition industry professionals experienced the benefits of ExpoExchange’s Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology while attending the International Association for Exhibition Management Show (IAEM) in Atlanta, GA recently.

Nearly 2000 registrants were issued RFID-enabled badges at the show. Seventeen strategically-placed portals tracked the attendance of more than 30 sessions held in 12 different meeting rooms, according to Bob Lucke, Executive Vice President, Business Development, Conferon Global Services.

“As a laboratory for new technologies, the IAEM show is the perfect place for us to showcase the benefits of RFID to an important audience, our fellow industry professionals,” said Lucke.

“We know that the industry has yet to tap into the huge potential for this technology and that educating people, especially industry insiders, is the first step in accomplishing that.”

Preliminary review of the information indicates that it has been very successful in gaining quantifiable participation statistics, according to Steven Hacker, President, IAEM.

“Last year we asked ExpoExchange to introduce RFID to our Future Focus attendees,” said Hacker. “This year we expanded our RFID deployment to include attendance tracking in all meeting rooms and at our general session. The data captured will help us better understand our attendees' education needs and attendance habits, making future meetings more meaningful for our members.”

Gathered for the purpose of helping IAEM to improve future meetings to benefit attendees and exhibitors alike, the data retrieved by ExpoExchange’s RFID system excludes any type of personal registrant information and is held completely secure by IAEM.
