Innovative New Events Venue In The German "Überseestadt" Bremen

Home

Bremen is a dynamic, innovative, multifaceted city in north-west Germany known for its blend of history, Hanseatic heritage, science, technology and space travel.

At the heart of this Hanseatic metropolis is the "Überseestadt", an exciting redevelopment of the historical international port and dockland area, where art, culture, modern services and the technologies of the future come face to face with Bremen's great trading heritage, its warehouses and its historical port.

Right in the heart of this dynamic and constantly changing environment is the latest, exciting events centre, the ELZ, a conversion of the former power plant and the adjacent equipment hall ("Staplerhalle").

With its maritime ambience and old industrial charm, today the ELZ is an events venue for the fields of business, science, art and culture. The power plant and the equipment hall - where electricity was once generated for the cranes and machinery and the quay forklifts were washed and serviced - are now versatile venues for all kinds of events.

The equipment hall offers 1,900 square metres of flexible indoor space, raised seating for up to 1,000 and a repositionable curtain gantry. The former power plant (ELZ) offers the generator hall (220 square metres) and various other versatile spaces (over 1,500 square metres).

Old spaces - new opportunities. As a performance venue, the ELZ has a refreshing, pioneering atmosphere without a hint of stuffiness. Marc Minkowski, one of the world's most sought-after conductors, describes the "Staplerhalle" as the "most incredible opera house in the world".

Instead of tired old backdrops, these are inspiring spaces for functions with pizzazz, innovative presentations and, of course, exclusive conventions. The ELZ offers an ambience in which design professionals and students from all over the world can gather and exchange creative ideas - the perfect venue for cutting-edge multimedia events.

In addition to the ELZ, Bremen has many other advantages when it comes to hosting conferences and conventions. It has a long-established reputation as one of north Germany's major trade fair and conference venues with special expertise in promoting new event ideas, impeccable planning and implementing exciting concepts.

Thanks to its well-developed infrastructure, Bremen is the perfect destination for conventions, conferences and events for up to 7,500 people. With over 70 hotels in every category and a total of more than 7,000 beds, Bremen has overnight accommodation to cater for events of any size.

The conference office of Bremen Tourist Information (BTZ) is a competent, inhouse PCO offering a complete one-stop service that will assist you in the successful planning and organisation of conferences, conventions or other large-scale events.

The BTZ will be happy to advise on the selection of suitable venues and social events and help to implement ideas for incentive travel to Bremen.
