Riding the forefront of technology, while staying attuned to aesthetic comfort and promoting environmental responsibility, Hyatt Regency Boston proudly unveils their newly renovated hotel.

Renovations at this four-star, four-diamond hotel include modernizing the look and feel, incorporating WiFi access, and enacting eco-friendly initiatives. But all guests see is a luxury enclave amidst the bustling streets.

"We've been working hard to increase visitors to the neighborhood who will contribute to the local economy," said David Nadelman, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Boston. "We saw an 18% increase in occupancy in 2004." He anticipates, "The renovation will make the hotel even more desirable to travelers, as shown by the growth in occupancy we continue to see."

The new interior design was inspired by the hotel's own charismatic architecture and neighborhood. Situated at One Avenue de Lafayette, in the heart of a thriving historical Boston neighborhood, Hyatt Regency Boston's exterior has a contemporary visage with a French influence.

These defining characteristics were manifested into the design for all 500 guest rooms and public & meeting space, including the addition of the Nantucket Room, 1,900 square feet that can accommodate 200 people. Arrow Street, a nationally recognized interior design firm based in Somerville, Massachusetts, executed the hotel's renovation.

The contemporary décor exudes an innovative and fresh design throughout the guest rooms. A palate of warm earth tones, rich textures, and deep woods interwoven with historical themes create ambiance that is luxurious, comfortable and modern. And modern extends beyond what meets the eye.

This comprehensive renovation allowed for the implementation of coveted wireless internet service. Pairing with the industry leader, T-Mobile HotSpot, WiFi is now fully accessible in the lobby and other public areas, as well as in guest rooms. This service is available to all hotel guests for $9.95 per day, although T-Mobile HotSpot subscribers receive the service free of charge.

"Conveniently located in Boston's Financial District, Hyatt Regency Boston serves as the destination for business travelers from all over the world," said Nadelman. "We are thrilled to be able to offer the type of comprehensive Internet accessibility that has become increasingly critical in providing our clientele with the environment they need to be fully functional."

For Hyatt Regency Boston, the renovation also includes conscientious environmental initiatives. "As a leader in the community, Hyatt Regency Boston believes it is our responsibility to continually strive to improve our "green" practices. In an ongoing effort to reduce energy usage, we are in the process of becoming Energy Star Rated and we are the first hotel in Boston to become a member of Green Hotels Association," he said.

Hotel guests automatically participate in "The Guestroom Green Program," without compromising service or quality. In an effort to conserve water, housekeeping refreshes linens and towels only after guests check out or if a special request is made. For the guests' convenience, the hotel staff handles the recycling for everything from paper and plastics to cardboards, cans and bottles. Per the renovations, amenity dispensers have been installed into showers of all guestrooms, assisting in the reduction of plastic waste, while allowing the hotel to continue offering luxury items.

Other initiatives include, but are not limited to, composting food in the kitchen, energy efficient lighting, and reducing paperwork administered amongst hotel staff. "We know that our guests have a choice of hotels when coming to this great city for both business and leisure visits. Both service and atmosphere influence their decision," said Nadelman. "Hyatt Regency Boston employees offer exceptional service to our guests, coupled with the product our guests are looking for."
