The Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) and its islands chapters are wrapping up a big year in 2005 with a one-week, holiday-inspired sales push for new meetings business in three key source markets, Dec. 7-13.

Utilizing its market-based regional sales team, HVCB is showcasing Hawai‘i’s meetings infrastructure and track record for delivering successful results at industry events in California (Dec. 7 and 14-15), Washington, DC (Dec. 8), and Chicago (Dec. 13).

“Over a span of seven days and from coast to coast, Hawai‘i will have a significant sales presence in three major markets that will generate new meetings business for 2006 and beyond,” said Michael Murray, CMP, CMM, CASE, HVCB’s vice president of sales and marketing for corporate meetings and incentives (CMI).

Seasonal Spectacular Tradeshow, Dec. 7 Presented by the California Society of Association Executives (calSAE), the nation’s third largest, the “Seasonal Spectacular Tradeshow” is regarded as the West Coast’s premier association-oriented tradeshow.

The Dec. 7th event at the Sacramento Convention Center is expected to draw more than 1,000 industry professionals and meeting decision-makers throughout California.

HVCB will present an island-themed exhibit and be joined by travel partners Aloha Airlines, Hilo Hattie, Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows, Wailea Marriott Resort, Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort, and Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa.

The tradeshow will feature a grand prize giveaway of a free Hawai‘i trip for two, including roundtrip airfare and two nights of hotel accommodations on O‘ahu, two nights on Maui, and four nights on Hawai‘i’s Big Island.

Cheryl Fernandez, HVCB’s Western regional director of accounts, is organizing its Hawai‘i sales programs in California.
