The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has been voted the "Best Convention and Exhibition Centre in the Asia Pacific" for the sixth consecutive time by the industry heavyweights in the newly released 2008 Industry Survey, conducted by CEI Asia Pacific magazine, a leading regional convention, exhibition and incentive industry publication.

More than 60% of the respondents, who are key decision-makers and influencers, ranked HKCEC as their preferred venue in the region, according to the survey.

Mr Cliff Wallace, Managing Director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML), said, "The winning streak demonstrates the continuous support from the readers of CEI Asia Pacific, who are our clients, partners and peers. More importantly, the award affirms the global reputation for excellence of HKCEC’s facilities and services amidst the increasing competition from new and expanding venues in the region.”

To better facilitate HKCEC's clients and accommodate the growing demand of our exhibition space, the construction of HKCEC's second expansion started in July 2006 and is scheduled for completion in early 2009. The expansion will add 19,400 square metres of exhibition space and bring the total rentable function space to over 90,000 square metres.

Over 360 respondents from more than 13 countries in the Asia Pacific region took part in the 2008 Industry Survey.  The survey results were released in the December-January issue of the magazine.

The HKCEC is managed and operated by HML, a private professional management company and wholly-owned subsidiary of NWS Holdings Limited (Stock code: 0659.HK).
