Hospitality Graduate Recruitment (HGR) has secured its first global contract with leading hotel group Hyatt International.

The contract which came into effect last month will see the Swiss based recruitment consultancy supporting over 110 hotels worldwide - including 9 Hyatt hotels throughout the Middle East - with their recruitment strategies.

For the next twelve months, HR departments across Hyatt International hotels in Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa and South America will have unlimited access to HGR’s comprehensive on-line database.

The database will help Hyatt’s HR staff source and recruit suitable hospitality graduates and undergraduates for a variety of entry level, trainee, supervisory and junior management positions. There is also a facility by which job opportunities can be posted.

HGR Managing Director Mr Jeff Ross stated “with this alliance, Hyatt International has clearly thrown down the gauntlet to other hotel chains by demonstrating their focus upon innovative and proactive recruitment strategy. With the expansion that is happening in their group, including within the Middle East, Hyatt International have clearly recognised the importance of recruiting young, educated talent. HGR is delighted to be a key recruitment channel for Hyatt International”.

HGR works with over 150 global hotel school and hospitality university partners, including the Emirates Academy Dubai, European International College Abu Dhabi and Oman Tourism College. This enables HGR to provide a very diverse nationality and language resource of fresh talent, looking for opportunities globally.

Jeff Ross adds that “there is vast interest and hunger amongst hospitality students and graduates to work in and experience Middle Eastern hospitality, both from Asian nationals that are studying abroad, and from European and other nationals.  With the growth and development in the Middle Eastern hotel market, hoteliers need to find the right means of accessing this fresh, motivated and educated talent – HGR is one such vehicle”.

Hyatt International Corporation’s VP Human Resources, Katie Carter, stated “Attracting, retaining and developing key talent in our company continues to be a key strategic issue for us as we face the anticipated growth over the next three to five years and beyond. As part of our global recruitment efforts, we have recently partnered with Hospitality Graduate Recruitment (HGR) as a resource to assist us in identifying talent for both our entry and junior management level positions. This partnership gives us in-depth access to HGR’s global Curriculum Vitae database of highly talented hospitality graduates and undergraduates”.
