Proving that good things come in threes, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) has reclaimed its mantle as the „Best Venue for over 500 Delegates‟ in the coveted National Meeting and Events Industry (MEA) awards for the third time.

MEA has tipped its hat to the GCCEC‟s impressive hat-trick by inducting the Centre in the prestigious MEA Hall of Fame, making it the only Convention Centre in Australia to be initiated.

Judged against a tough selection of worthy contenders, GCCEC was announced as the winner at the MEA National Conference in Alice Springs yesterday, Monday May 12.

The hotly contested awards are the premier accolade for industry management practice and outstanding performance in the Australian meetings and business events industry.

GCCEC‟s General Manager, Adrienne Readings, said the win was an impressive accomplishment.

“To win the national award for the third year running is a great honor in this industry - especially as we are the only Convention Centre to receive this accolade,” Ms Readings said.

“The Centre won the National Award in 2006 and 2007, and to continue the trend to win the title in 2008 is something we are all very proud of.

“Our Centre continues to work well as a team and deliver excellence beyond expectations. We have certainly worked hard towards earning the spot in the coveted MEA Hall of Fame," she said.

The National award win serves to highlight GCCEC‟s exceptional performance in the events and incentives industry, cementing its reputation as the premier conference and events destination.
