A significant business agreement has been reached between the Zhengzhou International Convention & Exhibition Centre (ZZICEC) and ITE Group Plc, a prestigious international exhibition organizer committed to using the ZZICEC for major exhibitions in the future.

ITE is the latest firm indicating long term interests in the ZZICEC. Since its establishment in the early 1990’s, ITE (www.ite-exhibitions.com) has developed into a major player in the global event business and now organizes over 190 exhibitions and conferences every year in 16 countries.

The agreement is between Hong Kong – Shanghai Venue Management (Zhengzhou) Limited (“VMZL”), the ZZICEC’s management company, and ITE Group Plc. It provides that ITE plans to organise between four (4) and six (6) exhibitions annually within the next 3 years.

VMZL and ITE will work closely with each other in order to facilitate necessary research in developing the exhibitions and the efficient operation of the new events in order to maximize the success of those events.

The formal announcement of the agreement was made by Cliff Wallace, VMZL Chairman and Hugh Scrimgeour, VMZL Vice Chairman during the annual General Assembly of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

UFI is meeting in Beijing now for its 73rd Congress. Wallace said, “It is encouraging that the business potential from Zhengzhou’s unique exhibition market has served as a catalyst to generate the interest of such important firms as ITE. The attraction of such firms is also a credit to the quality of ZZICEC as well as the impressive exhibition business resulting at the venue

during the first year of operation.”

VMZL is the professional management company responsible for the management and operation of the ZZICEC under a Management Agreement with the ZZICEC’s owner representative, Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Company Limited (“ZCL”).

From his office in London, ITE Executive Director Mr. Edward Strachan said today, “My staff has seen very clearly during their visits to Zhengzhou that the ZZICEC has great potential and offers excellent business potential. We will now join with the Bureau of Commerce and VMZL to research various business sectors in Henan to determine the best way to proceed with developing new exhibitions that will be held annually in Zhengzhou.”

Mr Strachan made it clear that Zhengzhou government must continue with ongoing improvements to Zhengzhou’s infrastructure and applauded government’s progress in this regard to date in connection with the development of the ZZICEC.

He also confirmed that professional private venue management must assure that service and labour standards would be above the normal found in other PRC cities where new venues are opening and competing for the same business.

ITE has a network of 18 offices worldwide and events in 17 countries. ITE's business is focused on organising world class international exhibitions and conferences and the company is best known for its work in emerging markets.

In less than 15 years, ITE has developed into a major player in the global event business, organising nearly 200 exhibitions and conferences every year in 17 countries.

Exhibitions and conferences play a vital role in the development of many industries and ITE takes great care to ensure that each event is well promoted, meticulously planned and professionally delivered to provide the best possible chance for participants to do more business.

The company operates to high standards and is a member of a number of event industry associations including: UFI; IUEF, the Russian exhibition association; and, the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO) in the UK.
