Glasgow Expects Conference Boost From Commonwealth Games Win

Home

Glasgow is predicting an increase in conference and exhibition business as a result of the city’s successful bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Molly Doheny, head of the Convention Bureau at Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: “Our successful Commonwealth Games bid will result in major infrastructure improvements in Glasgow in areas such as transportation and hotels.

“This fantastic win confirms Glasgow’s ability to deliver world-class events. Glasgow’s worldwide profile will be raised substantially, and combined with the more robust infrastructure Glasgow will have in place will, we are confident, result in more major conferences and exhibitions coming to the city.”
