Padraic Gilligan, President of SITE (Society of Incentive and Travel Executives) Ireland, will be in SA to present a business incentives seminar as part of the three-day Business Travel Expo 2003, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, February 19-23.

SITE Southern Africa’s chairman, Paul Braun expressed his delight at the availability of Gilligan for the seminar, entitled “Incentives: Creating Programmes that Deliver on the bottom line – makes cents, doesn’t it?

Topics to be covered by Gilligan include information on types of incentives, why don’t companies measure? And the capturing of Return on Investment metrics.

Over 200 exhibitors are expected to be part of the Business Travel Expo 2003, and plus the presence of Gilligan, who will deliver his incentives seminar on February 20 at the Sandton Convention Centre, there is further indication of the international interest in the show.

The Expo has already shown expanded growth in SA business circles over the past two years, according to RAI SA director and show organiser Melanie Froneman.

“Gilligan’s international business reputation is well known in the Performance Improvement field and we are delighted to include his seminar as part of SITE Southern Africa’s involvement with the Business Travel Expo 2003,” said Froneman.

Braun described Gilligan’s trip as timely for SA business, adding that the Irishman’s knowledge in his field, will be of major value to prominent business persons in SA. “There is a real need for companies to achieve improved productivity and performance from all their staff members in the ever increasing climate of competitiveness in business today.”

“Accordingly Gilligan’s seminar and the Business Travel Expo, is a “must” for those business executives serious about motivating their workforce to improve results,” said Braun. “Gilligan’s seminar explores the various incentive schemes used by companies today to motivate and reward staff.

It clearly illustrates how travel incentives, in particular, consistently come out tops in any objective evaluation of the effectiveness and cost efficiency of incentive schemes being used in an organisation.”
