In 2007 GCB German Convention Bureau e.V. will again invite three companies from the German meetings and conventions industry to exhibit for free as Wild Card winners at IMEX - incorporating Meetings made in Germany in Frankfurt.

The GCB will offer the lucky three space at its Germany stand. From 17 to 19 April 2007 they will be able to present their offerings to a large and international trade audience.

GCB director Lutz P. Vogt: "We are very happy about these three Wild Card winners, who will make our Germany stand even more attractive: They show interesting and innovative facets of Germany as a destination for meetings and conventions."

Kongress- und Kulturmanagement GmbH (KUK) from Weimar, which has mainly operated as a Professional Congress Organizer (PCO) of medical congresses, wants to win new and international customers at IMEX with its newly developed web-based database program myCONGRESS.

This software helps PCOs create and manage scientific congress schedules with a compact event structure but is also suitable for smaller meetings, seminars and conferences. "IMEX is a directional fair for national and international guests and offers its attendees clear structures and maximum comfort. With our product we want to show international customers in this environment that Germany has excellent standards of convention planning and implementation," says KUK director Olaf Theuerkauf.

The second GCB Wild Card winner is the Portland Forum am Herrenberg in the south of Heidelberg. The Art Nouveau building, which was formerly used for functions of HeidelbergCement AG, is now available as a venue for corporate, association and private events.

With state-of-the-art technology in a historical setting, the building is suitable for conventions and celebrations with up to 650 people. The three meeting rooms also serve as production or back offices.

"With the Portland Forum, we will round off Heidelberg's offerings for event planners who will be able to create attractive packages for all kinds of events in the Rhine-Neckar region at IMEX," Portland-Forum's Birgit Huber advertises her product.

The winners of GCB's third IMEX Wild Card also present new offerings: With "historical events & locations" - developed by Cruise Events - the Düsseldorf-based agency Orangepro Event & Touristik specialises in marketing historical and cultural venues in Germany.

This includes over one hundred castles and historical buildings, museums and parks. IMEX visitors can expect a new spectrum of venues that offer a special setting for surprising and innovative events: For example, top-notch cookery courses for small groups, medium-sized product presentations, and open-air functions for up to 5,000 people receive a very special flair thanks to medieval highlights, sword fighting, falconers and theme catering.

"IMEX is an attractive, international marketing platform. Next to the big German chains and brands we can present our cultural heritage and its venues," says Brigitte Leupoldt, Orangepro's events & tourism director.
