Global Events Partners (GEP), a partnership of leading independently owned and operated Destination Management Companies (DMC) opens a new office in Europe and appoints Sigrun Sigurdardottir as Director of Sales.

Sigrun joins GEP as a seasoned sales professional with over 15 years experience on all sides of the travel industry. As Director of Sales, she will head all sales and marketing efforts for GEP in Europe. From the point of first contact, she will sell all worldwide DMC partners, with a focus on leads amongst the European DMCs.

Sigrun states, "I joined GEP because it is a global organization with many opportunities in the European market. Quite frankly, the European DMCs, are the best DMCs in the world and I am very proud to represent them." Based out Brussels, Belgium, Sigrun will play a large role in the success of the new office.

Most recently as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Icelandair Hotels, Sigrun has "the know how's of a sales professional and operational executive." Her background includes experience at Icelandair Airlines as well as Samvinn Travel Agency; an education from the University of Iceland in Reykjavik, where she studied Marketing and Export; and fluency in three languages (English, German and Danish) .

Sigrun is clearly the well-rounded travel executive that GEP was searching for and found. Additionally, Sigrun joins GEP with a large network of contacts through her memberships in professional organizations such as, Soroptimist International, SITE and SKAL.
