Together with eleven partners from the German meetings and conventions industry, the GCB German Convention Bureau e.V. will present World Cup host Germany at the European Meeting Industry Fair (EMIF) on 15 and 16 February 2006 in Brussels.

With 54 square metres, taking up stand numbers 210 to 212 and 229 to 231, this will be GCB's biggest Germany stand ever at EMIF.

Naturally, the focal theme of the stand will be the 2006 FIFA World Cup with exhibitors offering information, brochures and programmes on all aspects of the major event. More than 30 years after the 1974 World Cup and for the first time since reunification, Germany will be hosting the world's most important sports event - apart from the Olympic Games.

In the twelve World Cup arenas 32 teams will be competing in 64 matches - watched by 3.2 million fans in the stadiums and over 40 billion TV viewers.

One million guests from all over the world will visit Germany for the World Cup. They will benefit from countless investments in the hotel sector and comprehensive improvements in Germany's infrastructure as will meeting planners and their guests even after the big event. For example, three times a day, Belgian visitors will be able to get from Brussels to Frankfurt by ICE International in less than four hours.

The GCB stand at EMIF will inform about five of the twelve World Cup cities and regions:

The GCB stand will not only lure visitors to the stand with facts about meetings and conventions in Germany but also with a price draw.
