Former White House Chef, Walter Scheib, will be dishing stories of politics and haute cuisine at the upcoming Destinations Showcase Conference & Expo, taking place March 1, 2007, at the Scheib, appearing courtesy of Leading Authorities Speakers Bureau, served as the executive chef in the kitchen for both Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. Since leaving the White House at the start of Bush’s second term, Scheib has written a book, spoke at several events, and even competed in the popular Food Network Show Iron Chef America - and won! “It’s wonderful to have someone so recognizable in the DC area with such colorful stories be a part of our program,” says Michael D. Gehrisch, President & CEO of Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI). “Leading Authorities has consistently provided interesting and talented speakers and we’re pleased they are once again sponsoring our 2007 event.” 2007 will mark the second year since DMAI regained ownership of Destinations Showcase and the first full-year show cycle for the annual DC event under DMAI’s planning. “We’re ahead of pace on exhibit sales from last year at this time,” remarks Jim Duda, Managing Director of Destinations Showcase. “We’re also planning a new lineup of education with some topics never before presented at Destinations Showcase. There will be programming for junior- and senior-level meeting professionals alike.” Destinations Showcase is being planned in conjunction with the 14th Annual DMAI Foundation Dinner and Dream Auction, being held the night before on February 28. |
