ExCeL London announced it has been chosen to host the UK’s premier healthcare event.

Returning to the capital for the first time in eight years, the NHS Confederation’s 10th Annual Conference and Exhibition is expected to attract over 2,000 delegates and 1,000 exhibiting personnel from 20 - 22 June 2007.

Attended by the Secretary of State for Health and the NHS chief executive, the event will take the form of an exhibition, plenary sessions with keynote speakers, master classes and breakout sessions in ExCeL London’s Event Halls and Waterfront Rooms.

The venue’s prestigious Platinum Suite will be used for a conference dinner, nine regional meetings, numerous networking receptions, AGMs, breakfast meetings and press conferences.

Dr Gill Morgan, chief executive of the NHS Confederation, says: “The NHS Confederation’s annual conference and exhibition has achieved year on year growth and is widely recognised amongst health heavyweights as the UK’s premier health event of the year.”

She continues: “As the event reaches its 10th anniversary we need a venue that can meet the demands of our members, delegates and stakeholders. ExCeL London has the capacity, the facilities, the location, the transport links and the flexibility to ensure that our flagship event remains the leading healthcare event of the year.”

Vanessa Cotton, managing director of ExCeL London’s conference and events division comments: “We are delighted that the NHS Confederation has chosen our venue for this highly important event and are extremely proud to have played an instrumental part in attracting it back to the capital. This is a real flagship event for London and we’ll be working extremely hard over the following months to ensure its success.”
