Europe's first conference to be held on the theme of education and training for the Business Tourism industry will be held from 30 November to 02 December at EIBTM.

This unique event, supported by Reed Travel Exhibitions, will bring together over 50 academics from universities all over Europe, specialising in teaching and research in the fields of conferences, exhibitions, incentive trips and individual business travel.

Exhibitors and visitors to EIBTM will be able to attend the event to learn how universities are educating the next generation of managers in the conference, business travel and incentive sectors.

The conference is being organised by ATLAS, the Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (www.atlas-euro.org), a worldwide network of academics specialising in all branches of travel and tourism, including Business Tourism. The publishers, Butte worth Heinemann, will be sponsoring one of the conference coffee breaks, and delegates will be able to familiarise themselves with the conference and events management textbooks that they publish.

Delegates will make presentations on an exciting series of on topics that illustrate the valuable contribution that academics are making to the conference and incentive industry in Europe. These will be on the themes of:

  • Best practice in innovative Business Tourism course provision
  • Best practice in Business Tourism education/industry liaison
  • Best practice in academic research for the Business Tourism industry
  • Best practice in the development of Business Tourism educational materials
  • Best practice in Business Tourism education collaboration between universities

Academic delegates to the conference will have the opportunity o f visiting the EIBTM exhibition and they will visit the Catalonia Palace of Congresses on the last afternoon of the exhibition.
