Dublin Convention Bureau announced its first member meeting of 2008 which will take place on Thursday, 10th April at Hotel Isaacs.

Jean Evans, CEO of Dublin Convention Bureau, said ‘We are very excited about this opportunity to interact with a number of our over 100 members at firsthand. During the two hour event, we plan to give those attending time to network with each other - fulfilling a need that has been expressed to us previously -, provide an update on the Bureau’s first quarter activities and address two topics that the members have selected as being of particular interest to them, namely ‘the Difference between Corporate and Association business’ and ‘Conducting Effective Site Inspections’.

Ms Evans continued ‘We are particularly pleased that Mike Lyon, director of Write Style Communications Ltd., has agreed to present on site inspections at the meeting. Mike’s experience which includes functioning as a qualified marketing skills trainer in the financial services market, over 10 years as a Conference Manager for Barclays Global Payments Division, running the ‘Ask the Experts’ Pavilion for EIBTM, managing the Advice Centre and CV Clinic for International Confex and Event UK and authoring a book on Venue Selection techniques makes him the ideal person to help our members maximise their valuable site inspection opportunities.’

Ms Evans concluded ‘As we move towards the opening of our new Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) in 2010, the industry is keen to capitalise on the opportunities that a purpose built, state of the art convention centre will offer the city and this April meeting is one of a planned series of three such meetings this year that we hope will allow us to work together even more effectively in generating innovative, professional and tailored solutions to our current and future clients’ needs. We would like to thank Hotel Isaacs for their kind sponsoring of the meeting room and refreshments for the event.’
