Dorte Ottesen brings to Tourism Vancouver 15 years experience in the convention industry and comes to the organization from Wonderful Copenhagen, the destination marketing organization for Copenhagen, Denmark where she most recently held the position of Convention Director. During Ottesen’s eight years with Wonderful Copenhagen, the city consistently ranked as one of the world’s top 10 international congress destinations. Copenhagen is one of Vancouver’s partners in the BestCities Global Alliance. “Dorte is highly respected throughout the international meetings and conventions industry and we’re honoured that she’s chosen the world’s most liveable city as her new home,” said Dave Gazley, Tourism Vancouver’s vice president, Meeting and Convention Sales. A past president of the Danish Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, Ottesen has been a presenter at International Convention and Congress Association (ICCA) events, and also has considerable experience as a professional conference planner. Building Tourism Vancouver’s international sales team will help the organization attract business for the expanded convention centre.
