Malfunctioning equipment, terrible weather and disturbing events - normally they are a planner's worst nightmare. But these “disasters” are part of a frightfully fun privatized event that will be available to groups at the new Twilight Zone Tower of Terror^TM* attraction. The attraction officially opens April 2008 at the Walt Disney Studios® Park, but will be available to groups as part of a special preview beginning in January.

Inspired by the classic 1960s television series The Twilight Zone, the new attraction will send attendees plummeting down a 13-story drop into the mysterious Fourth Dimension. As the attraction nears completion, the Disneyland® Resort Paris Business Solutions team has developed an elaborate privatized-event option that will be available to groups of up to 1,500 people.

“While Disney is famous for executing flawless events, the whole premise of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror^TM is that something has gone frightfully wrong.” said Carlo Olejniczak, director of Business Solutions. “An elevator has disappeared into oblivion and its passengers are never seen again. Our team has gone to great lengths to create an event as unique as the attraction. A privatized evening at the old Hollywood Tower Hotel brings together theming, décor, food & beverage and entertainment to create an event that is sophisticated and mysterious. It all works beautifully, especially when things go 'wrong'.”

Attendees will feel like Hollywood celebrities as they step back in time to the Golden Age of Hollywood, specifically back to October 31, 1939. That was the night when lightening struck the grand Hollywood Tower Hotel sending the infamous elevator and its passengers into another realm.

On this night however, attendees are invited to “drop in” to the famous hotel for an experience they won't soon forget.

Guests who survive the new thrill attraction are invited to the nearby Studio 1 for an elegant sit-down dinner. The story continues as Studio 1 has been transformed into a new dimension of sight and of sound, like a set right out of The Twilight Zone television series.

Through special effects, a thunderstorm rages outside. Inside entertainment is provided by a jazz band that plays movie soundtracks while a mentalist unveils the attendees' astonishing supernatural powers. And remember, in the 4th dimension everything is possible. A lively troupe of performers prove it with impressive juggling that defies the laws of gravity to create true art.
