CULTOUR, the first international trade fair specialized in cultural travel and tourism will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico and Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

GSAR Marketing - CULTOUR organizers - thinks that cultural travel - primarily city travel - together with group business travel, incentives and meetings is the most profitable travel trade business sought by both high and low tourism developed countries, regions and cities.

Internationality is truly obtained – GSAR Marketing says – by making out of CULTOUR a “transcontinental” trade show to be held on even numbered years in Guadalajara, Mexico and on odd numbered years in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

Both cities are truly cultural havens: Guadalajara - a nearly five hundred years old city in the heart of Mexico’s Colonial Cities route; and, Santiago - the end and goal of millions of European pilgrims from all Europe and the world has being visited for the last 1,600 years.

CULTOUR is scheduled in Guadalajara, January 12-15, 2006; and, in Santiago, January 25-28, 2007.

At CULTOUR in Guadalajara there will be a strong representation of North, Central and South American exhibitors while in Santiago the European presence will be more obvious although both will be visited by worldwide professional buyers: tour operators and travel agents specialized in cultural travel from Europe, the USA, Latin America, Japan, China and more.

CULTOUR will have a mixed format: Thursday and Friday strictly for professionals while Saturday and Sunday will be open to the general public to include international folklore, handicrafts, concerts, famous restaurants serving food, etc.

Under the cultural travel umbrella can be found numerous travel activities: “City breaks”, archaeology, religions, museums, art, geography, music, dance, folklore festivals, history, gastronomy, wine culture, popular festivities and more.
