Congrex To Set Up Operational Centre In Second Life

Congrex is to become the first meeting and exhibition management company to establish representation in the virtual reality world of Second Life, officials said.

"We are planning to establish a Congrex branch in Second Life to celebrate the 25 years of excellence in the real world. The branch in Second Life will serve primarily as an information portal for the forward thinking services delivered in meeting management for the association, corporate, government and virtual clients,”" Dr. Layth Bunni, CEO Congrex Group told the press.

The Congrex Second Life office would not provide information but would instruct visitors how to obtain advice on meeting, exhibition and association management issues in the real world and act as a link to web-based information about the Congrex Company.

"Second Life allows us to inform people about Congrex and broaden the opportunity for contact with Congrex easily and affordably," Bunni said.

Congrex is a meeting and exhibition management company tasked with informing the world about opportunities in bringing quality events to clients globally.

Second Life -- a fantasy world inhabited by computer-generated residents created by San Francisco technology company Linden Lab -- has attracted several real-world companies, including car manufacturers and sports clothing makers, which created 3-D stores.

While there were individuals in Second Life calling themselves the "Event manager", the Congrex initiative would however be the first officially sanctioned meetings and exhibitions management company in Second Life.

Bunni encouraged the Congrex operational Centre would open soon. In the longer term Congrex envisaged acquiring additional representation in the virtual world to create opportunities for virtual methods to enhance its mission of providing integrated solutions to its clients.

On Friday, according to the Second Life website, there were 5,084,679 residents in its alternative reality, more than one third of them having signed up in the last 60 days.
