The International Congress Association AIPC (Association Internationale des Palais des Congrès) has conferred the APEX Award „Best Congress Centre of the Year 2001“ on July, 4 in Melbourne: On this occasion, Congress Innsbruck, in presence of the major exponents of the convention industry, has been rated number one in the world. After an excellent third place world-wide and the rang as best congress centre in Europe last year, Congress Innsbruck has now been able to break all records. The esteemed international award represents the peak in the Tyrolean Congress centre’s history which was marked by many records and outstanding events in the last few years. This award is based on an international client enquiry organised by the Higher Technical Institute of Heilbronn (D). All year long, convention centres all over the world were judged by their clients in a multi-parameter evaluation in nine award categories. Congress Innsbruck was able to get best votes in the categories general impression, atmosphere, exposition facilities, technical equipment as well as client assistance and was the number one in six out of nine categories. Being this year’s winner, Congress Innsbruck has to wait for one year and is not allowed to participate at APEX Award 2002. “No other award could better underline the high quality work of our congress centre than this international Oscar of the congress industry. I am very proud of our team – every single co-worker has contributed to this success”, says the visibly satisfied director of Congress Innsbruck, Georg Lamp, after his return from Australia.
