Conferon Global Services, Inc. (CGS), the US’s largest meeting management and event services company, announced the appointment of Michael Deegan & Vanessa Reich to the position of National Account Manager.

A 23-year veteran of Conferon, Deegan recently retired after serving as National Director/ Meeting Services for the Chicago Regional Office for 20 years.

Honoring a career that included booking more than 500 meetings and managing more than 250 on-site events, Deegan received the President’s Award of Excellence from Conferon in 2002.

“I have known Mike since my first day at Conferon and his passion and enthusiasm has always been contagious,” said Teri Tonioli, Vice President, North Central Region. “Having him continue as a part of our team even after his formal retirement only shows why so many of us look up to him as a true team player.”

Transitioning from a corporate position to a more entrepreneurial sales position as a National Account Manager is the next phase of Deegan’s ongoing career with Conferon.

“Seeing Conferon, and the industry as a whole, grow and mature has been an outstanding experience,” said Deegan. “I look forward to the challenges this new position with Conferon brings to me in the coming years.”

As a National Account Manager, Reich will cover the Austin, Texas region for CGS.

Before joining the company, Reich most recently worked as a Meetings and Tradeshow Manager for The Texas Credit Union League in Dallas, TX, and prior to that, served as National Sales Manager for the Houston office of J&S Audio Visual.

Her resume also includes the grand opening of Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center where she served as Assistant Sales Manager responsible for the contract negotiations and coordination of the Center’s conferences, public shows, and political and social events.

“Vanessa brings a unique combination of multi-industry experience to CGS,” said Andy Smith, Regional Director, CGS. “She will be an asset to our St. Louis regional office team.”

Reich attended Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, TX, and The University of Texas at Austin and currently resides in Austin.
