Bruce Harris, Founder of Conferon and President of Conferon Global Services (CGS) announced his retirement from CGS, effective March 2, 2006.

A leading innovator and outspoken advocate for the meetings industry for the past 36 years, Harris will remain on the CGS Board of Directors and continue to be actively involved in a number of key CGS initiatives ranging from industry relations and training to involvement in key customer relationships.

“My immediate goal is to spend more time with my two sons and daughter, who live in Dallas, San Diego and St. Louis, respectively,” said Harris.

“This could not be a better opportunity. My CGS business cards will now read ‘Founder and Chairman Emeritus’...and I will be able to do the two things I love most in life: spend more time with both my personal and work families.”

A 2004 inductee into the CIC Hall of Leaders and the recipient of the 2005 Spirit of Hospitality Award from the Destination Marketing Association, Harris remains most proud of the collective accomplishments of the growing CGS team.

“Without the support, creativity and energy of the many incredible individuals I have worked with, we could never have achieved the level of success we have been blessed with,” said Harris. “I can’t thank them enough for their leadership and contributions.”

Harris will maintain his office at the CGS Twinsburg, Ohio location.

“We are very fortunate that, despite Bruce’s retirement, he will remain involved in the company and industry he loves,” said Ed Shartar, CEO of CGS. “He has created a legacy built on personal integrity, the highest business ethics, industry leadership and a passion for our team and the services we provide.”

The Conferon Global Services family will celebrate Harris’ career achievements at the 2006 CGS Annual Meeting to be held in Denver, CO, this August.
