The important and newly relaunched destination of Plymouth has joined the British Association of Conference Destinations (BACD), one of the UK’s leading conference organisations.

Plymouth, a vibrant regional capital, boasts more than 30 conference and meeting venues, plus associated attractions and suppliers.

It combines the facilities of a modern city with the allure of an historic seafaring port. State-of-the-art conference facilities are complemented by a wealth of history and tradition.

Alvin Hargreaves, chair of Conference Plymouth and director of programming at Plymouth Pavilions, says: “In an increasingly competitive market place the recently formed Conference Plymouth is delighted to be joining BACD as an integral part of its marketing strategy.

“Conference Plymouth is a representative group of Plymouth’s conference and accommodation sector with the shared objective of driving Plymouth forward as a serious and coordinated conference destination. Full details of the conference and exhibition facilities offered by the members of Conference Plymouth can be found at www.conferenceplymouth.co.uk”.

Comments Tony Rogers, BACD chief executive: “We are very pleased to welcome Conference Plymouth into membership of BACD. They represent an important destination and their inclusion in the BACD network means that we can now offer organisers one-stop access to another of the major players in south west England.”
