Toronto’s National Trade Centre today announced it’s participation at the BIT show in Milan, February 12th to 15th, 2005.

BIT is the largest exhibition in the world for the Italian tourist product and a thorough show of

the best the international travel market has to offer.

Through a unique partnership between Fiera Milano and the National Trade Centre owned by the City of Toronto, the City of Toronto will showcase Toronto as a top tourist destination and the National Trade Centre as the premier Canadian meeting location for association and meeting planners.

In exchange, Fiera Milano will promote its new exhibition centre and the city of Milan to the Canadian marketplace with a display at the award winning National Trade Centre during the 127th Canadian National Exhibition.

During the Mayor’s mission to Milan in November, 2004, Deputy Mayor, Joe Pantalone and General Manager of the National Trade Centre, Arlene Campbell met with senior officials of Fiera Milano to agree upon the exchange.

The Italian Chamber of Commerce of Toronto was instrumental in facilitating the exchange. Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone stated, “This partnership strengthens our already strong ties with Milan and allows each partner a unique opportunity to reach new markets.”

The National Trade Centre is Canada's newest and largest exhibition and meeting facility, with over 1 million square feet of space, divisible into 10 exhibit halls.

The profitable year-round tradeshow facility has hosted over 200 tradeshows, consumer shows and special events annually since opening in 1997.
