CIC Appoints Heather Douglin As New CMP Director

The Convention Industry Council (CIC) announced that Heather Doughlin, CMP, will join the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) program as its new director.

 

She joins CIC after 25 years of service to the Hyatt Hotels Corporation with positions in the Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and Washington DC metropolitan areas.

 

Her most recent position was Senior Catering and Convention Services Manager for the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, an 804 room property with 40,000 square feet of meeting space.

 

Notable accomplishments in her tenure at Hyatt include expanding the wedding market while Director of Catering at Hyatt Arlington, recognition by Illinois Hotel and Motel Association Stars of the Industries Service Award, and receiving “Manager of the Quarter” awards on several occasions. She was also co-chair of the Hospitality Division for the DC Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives for a period in 2006.

Ms. Doughlin, a twelve-year CMP and former Study Group Leader, will join the CMP team in its ongoing effort to enhance the program to better serve its members. She will commence her duties with the Convention Industry Council in early November 2007.
