The Convention Industry Council welcomed the association management software developer TMA Resources, Inc. to the Accepted Practices Exchange (APEX) Technology Advisory Council.

TMA is a premier provider of software to manage large trade associations, professional societies, labor unions, and other member-centric organizations.

APEX, an initiative of the Convention Industry Council, is implementing industry-wide accepted practices which will create and enhance efficiencies throughout the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry.

Finding technology solutions to implementing accepted practices will maximize the initiative’s success.

“We are pleased that TMA is joining the technology leaders who are driving the adoption and implementation of accepted practices,” said Rich Hunter, APEX Director. “As a leader in the software and data conversion industry, TMA’s participation in the APEX initiative will be invaluable.”

The Technology Advisory Council is comprised of information technology professionals representing software vendors, housing and registration companies, IT consultants, hotels and others.

Since 2001, the TAC has worked with the seven APEX industry panels to foster adoption of accepted practices through free access to data specifications.

Tom Brantigan, Senior Vice President and CTO of TMA Resources, said, “XML and XML standards have become the center of our software universe from auto-code-generators to screen design to standards for our web services. Becoming part of APEX is an important extension of this dedication to standards and interoperability.”
