The Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau (CCTB) will host 18 corporate meeting planners Nov. 11 and 12 to share perceptions of Chicago as a meeting destination. The gathering is in response to what CCTB said is a greater demand for corporate meeting space.

In recent years, the CCTB and Chicago have hosted hundreds of corporate meetings and events annually. The number of attendees has varied from small, high caliber events to large user sessions and sales meetings numbering in the thousands.

CCTB executives expect corporate meeting planners representing companies like Home Depot, Microsoft, Motorola, and Walgreen's to share opinions about several issues impacting their market.

Topics scheduled for discussion include: the new McCormick Place West Building marketing and attendance-building strategies; "Make It Chicago" corporate meeting program, and what the CCTB and the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) must do to remain supportive of this market.
