The Incentive Travel and Meetings Association (ITMA) is to produce a second full-day events industry training workshop in 2004, following the success of its July course, Events in Action.

Said the Association’s Executive Director Charles Robinson “The ITMA has run an annual training workshop for 11 years now, but requests for a second event from people unable to attend our July course were such that we have been prompted to schedule a repeat event, which will be held on 16 December at the Novotel London West.

Speakers at the July workshop included John Denham, Vantage Point; John Fisher, Oxford International; Jennifer Jenkins, MCI UK, Elaine Richardson, TFI Group and Sarah Webster, TradeTalk. They took delegates through the life-cycle of a corporate event, covering every aspect from receiving an initial client brief through to financial control and post-event evaluation. The one day industry-specific course is designed for executives from agencies, corporate organisations and suppliers having up to two years’ experience in event management.

Added Robinson: “The reaction from the delegates who attended the July workshop was the most positive ever. Our evaluation questionnaires scored a high percentage of ‘excellent’ ratings, particularly for the content and quality of the speakers themselves, whose presentations were candid and based on decades of experience. This proves that there is no better opportunity to learn than from more experienced colleagues who have truly valuable insights to share.”

Information on booking the December workshop is available by contacting the ITMA secretariat (Tel: 01737 779928; e-mail info@itma-online.org) or via the association’s website: www.itma-online.org.
