The British Association of Conference Destinations’ (BACD) 'Infrastructure Investment Register' is a database of new investment projects underway or planned across BACD's member destinations.

It includes details of new venues, major refurbishments to existing venues, information on related infrastructure developments such as an extension to an airport, new roads, construction of a major visitor attraction or retail development.

In other words, facilities and infrastructure which will be of interest to organisers, delegates and their partners attending a conference.

The Register shows the anticipated cost of each project and also provides an aggregated figure for the total investment taking place in 'Conference UK'.

BACD chief executive Tony Rogers said: “This interim figure represents investment information compiled from 25 destinations (approximately one third of the BACD membership), and it is already clear that UK conference destinations are investing very substantial sums in their facilities. We are capturing more investment data each week so the total is likely to be considerably greater than this early figure.”
