BACD Launches Destinations Showcase

The British Association of Conference Destinations (BACD) will hold its first British Destinations Showcase on Tuesday 7th November 2006 at the Dali Universe, County Hall Gallery, Riverside Building in central London.

The Showcase has been launched to give event organisers the unique opportunity to meet many of the UK’s premier event destinations in one convenient location. It will begin at 3pm and run until 6pm.

The Showcase will provide organisers with an opportunity to meet a wide variety of representatives from convention bureaux across Britain. Some 30 destinations will participate in the Showcase, stretching from Aberdeen to Torquay.

Visitors will be able to obtain all the latest destination information, including details of new venues and refurbishments, infrastructure investments, ideas for social and partner programmes, and support for conference bids.

There will be options to attend topical seminars, and visitors will be treated to themed entertainment and refreshments. Attendance is by invitation only.

“We are planning a business-focused but relaxed and enjoyable event, using a venue with a difference, the Dali Museum, which we anticipate will draw buyers because of its unique ambience,” said Sue Stuart, chair of BACD.

“We are keen to demonstrate the unrivalled and impartial destination expertise of BACD members, and put this at the disposal of event buyers.”

Further details of the British Destinations Showcase are available via the BACD website.
