The British Association of Conference Destinations’ (BACD) Affiliate Membership Programme has been given a boost with the recruitment of a number of new members.

Membership has now reached 113, the highest number to date.

The new affiliate members include Aintree Racecourse, BTS Consultants and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

BACD’s Affiliate Membership Programme was established two years ago. The programme is open to individuals and organisations associated with the conference and business tourism industry and provides access to valuable market research data, marketing support, advice and industry intelligence.

Members include venues, consultants, universities running business tourism courses and suppliers to the conference industry.

Julie Clark, director of hospitality and leisure at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, said: "We have joined the BACD Affiliate Programme in order to heighten our exposure within the conference and meetings market and to benefit from BACD's comprehensive industry knowledge and experience."

Tony Rogers, chief executive of BACD, said: “The Affiliate Membership Programme is designed to provide additional information, resources and marketing opportunities to companies involved in business tourism.

High retention levels and the continuing recruitment of new members are testament to the relevance of the Programme, which in turn gives BACD a direct interface with key industry suppliers.”
