After a lifelong career in the hospitality industry and 14 years at the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB), Bill Howard, vice president of marketing, tourism and communications, is retiring.

Howard was an organizer of two ACVB-sponsored travel trade shows including the Southern Marketplace, an annual trade show developed by Nashville, New Orleans and Atlanta to showcase the South as a destination to the international travel market.

He also helped organize New Discoveries, a showcase of new attractions in Atlanta and Georgia. Additionally, Howard led the ACVB’s efforts, in partnership with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Georgia Department of Economic Development, to become the headquarters of the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas (FTAA).
