The Full membership of ABPCO has experienced a growth surge following the upgrade of five existing Associate members who now qualify for Full membership status.

The upgrade results from the annual review of Associate members carried out by the ABPCO Executive Committee.

The Association now has 64 Full members, 24 Associate members, and 2 Honorary members.

The five new Full members are:

·         Tamara Anderson (Conference & Events Manager, British Institute of Radiology)

·         Sarah Byrne (Director, Mosaic Events Ltd)

·         Peter Cox (Partner, Academy for Advanced Educational Projects Ltd)

·         Daphne Llewellyn Davies (Business Development Officer, Campden & Chorleywood Food Research Association)

·         Melissa Green (Events Manager, Roffey Park Institute)

Stringent criteria must be met to qualify for Full membership of ABPCO. They cover: years of experience, the number and range of events organised, and a person’s seniority within their own company or employing organisation.

Commenting on the membership upgrade, Jonathan Wilson, Chair of ABPCO and MD of Healthcare Events Ltd, said: “We are delighted to see members progressing within ABPCO in this way. While encouraging Associate members to work towards Full membership status, we always have to keep in mind the criteria laid down for acceptance. We wish to maintain the quality standards for which ABPCO is justly renowned, so that membership accreditation really is worth having. It provides genuine assurance to potential clients.”

Sarah Byrne said: “It is great to have the accreditation of being a Full member of ABPCO. For me it is so important to be able to keep up-to-date with legislation and ensure that I am always achieving maximum success when organising conferences. ABPCO provides a great platform for discussing best practice and networking with other PCOs.”

Melissa Green commented: “I was delighted to receive the invitation to become a Full member of ABPCO which, for me, offers professional recognition for many years as a conference and events organiser.”
