Aberdeen Airport Receives Additional Air Service

Aberdeen Airport was the fastest growing airport in the BAA Scotland group, with passenger numbers increasing 14% over 2005.

With 300,000 passengers a year and numbers quickly growing, Aberdeen Airport is adding twelve new domestic and international flights in 2007, including service from: Birmingham, Kristiansand, Brussels, Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Murcia, Palma, Cyprus, Costa Dorada, Menorca, and Ibiza.

With several new destinations now servicing Aberdeen, meeting planners can coordinate transportation for their international attendees with ease!

American travelers have a number of options for arriving in Aberdeen. There are direct flights via Edinburgh and Glasgow from Atlanta, Toronto, Chicago, Newark, and Philadelphia and there are also several non-stop flights a day from London's Heathrow Airport, Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, and Manchester, England.

Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre's (AECC) Director of Sales & Marketing, Brian Horsburgh, feels that the airport's growth will contribute to The Center's continued success.

"We are tremendously excited for the new flight service to Aberdeen Airport. With easier access to Aberdeen, we are expecting to see more and more groups bring their meetings here. It should be another outstanding year."

Aberdeen is Scotland's third largest city and is accessible by air from all major European cities and is also just two hours north of Scotland's Capital, Edinburgh, by car.

Aberdeen is located on the North Sea, at the start of the Whisky and Castle trails of Scotland, providing meeting planners with endless activities for their attendees.
