Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB) brings 3 new congresses to Istanbul.

 

2007 Congress of International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Associations (IFATCA), 2008 European Congress on Clinical & Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis & Osteoarthritis (ECCEO), and 2011 International Seed Federation Congress (ISF) will be hosted in Istanbul.

 

ECCEO - International Osteoporosis Foundation organizes European Congress on Clinical & Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis & Osteoarthritis every year with about 5,000 participants.

 

ICVB, which participated ICCA Category D Workshop held in Geneva 2004, started membership process with the business opportunity it received during the workshop.

 

ICVB hosted President of ECCEO Prof. Jean-Yves Reginster in May 2005 and later International Osteoporosis Foundation President Prof. Pierre Delmas between 23-24 August 2005 in Istanbul for inspection and review of congress facilities.

 

By the support of President of Turkey Joint Diseases Foundation Prof. Dr. Sahap Atik, Istanbul has been selected to host the 2008 congress leaving behind other important European candidate cities.

 

ECCEO Congress will take place in Istanbul at Grand Cevahir Hotel & Congress Center between 7 and 12 April 2008.

 

IFATCA Congress will be held between 16 and 20 April 2007 at Istanbul Convention & Exhibition Center (ICEC) with 1,000 participants.

 

Membership process started when ICVB followed the business lead of UK and Ireland representative of ICVB in 2003 and informed Turkey Air Traffic Controllers Association. With the joint work of the Turkey Air Traffic Controllers Association and ICVB, Istanbul has made a presentation between 17 and 22 April 2005 at IFATCA 2005 Conference held in Melbourne and Istanbul has won the election by receiving 60 of 66 votes against Abuja (Nigeria).

 

ISF - ICVB that worked for 2 years to bring the congress to Istanbul has started candidacy procedures by hosting ISF General Secretary Mr. Bernard Le Buaneck together with The Turkish Seed Industry Association General Secretary Mr. Ayhan Elci.

 

Istanbul has been selected as the host city of 2011 congress at the ISF General Assembly organized in Santiago, Chile between 29 May and 1 June 2005.

 

Congress of The Seed Federation organized by International Seed Federation (ISF) every year, will be organized in Istanbul Convention & Exhibition Center (ICEC) between 21-25 May 2011 with an expected of 1,500 participants.
