The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) 2007 International Convention & Exposition in Boston July 22-25, 2007 drew the largest attendance in the annual conference's 39-year history.

 

The final count for the Boston NBTA was more than 6,200 attendees.

 

According to the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau, more than 1500 travel buyers, 4,500 travel suppliers and 80 media participated in the historic event.

 

The convention generated $13.6 million in spending impact and represents more than $425 million in future corporate bookings for the Boston visitor industry.

The Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau, Amtrak, the Massachusetts Port Authority, and the City of Boston hosted the NBTA Boston Welcome Reception at the magnificent century-old Boston Public Library which was attended by 4,500 guests.

 

The record-breaking convention & exposition was held at the three-year-old Boston Convention & Exposition Center (BCEC).

 

NBTA Boston Convention speakers included General Colin Powell, former U.S. Secretary of State, author and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, Gordon Bethune, formerly CEO of Continental Airlines, Robert Crandall, formerly CEO of American Airlines, and Peter Greenberg, author and nationally known TV travel commentator.
