To celebrate 2006 Discover Hong Kong Year (DHKY), the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has launched a range of bonus privileges to further enrich corporate visitors’ experience in Hong Kong.

 

In addition to the current offers, corporate meetings and incentive travel groups visiting Hong Kong during 2006 will receive extra value-added offers.

 

Groups with 30-149 overseas participants can choose between an airport welcome or a Chinese craft demonstration of flour doll making; name carving on chopsticks; Chinese knotting; or Chinese rainbow calligraphy.

 

Larger groups of up to 999 overseas participants can select two of the craft demonstrations or the airport welcome.

 

Groups of over 1,000 overseas participants will receive a special welcome, either from a marching band or a Dukling welcome, which involves a sailpast by a Chinese junk displaying a welcome banner with the corporate name.

 

Corporate visitors to Hong Kong often choose to bring along their partners or spouses, and the HKTB is also offering a special privilege to groups which include 30 or more companions.

 

Groups can choose between a Chinese cake making and tea appreciation class or a diamond/jade/pearl appreciation class.

This website also contains the 2006 DHKY Online Product Guide, the essential guide to valueadded offers and services from airlines, hotels and venues. The user-friendly product guide also allows the user to select appropriate venues and request promotional offers direct from suppliers.

 

The HKTB has also just launched its Hong Kong Value Plus PLUS programme for 2006. This package has been specifically tailored to give an array of privileges that will make participants at conventions and exhibitions feel welcome in Hong Kong.

 

Conference delegates of a group of any size will receive the following package benefits, which is valid until 31st December 2006, will include:

 

  • A specially designed souvenir (for convention participants only)
  • Complimentary copies of the Hong Kong Street Map and visitor information (Hong Kong Leisure Guide for Business Travellers / Hong Kong Visitor’s Kit)
  • Special privileges booklet including discounts or special offers for the Cultural Kaleidoscope Programme; free admission to the Hong Kong Museum of History and the
  • Hong Kong Heritage Museum; and shopping and dining discounts

For groups of between 100 and 299 delegates, overseas participants will in addition enjoy a welcome message at the Hong Kong International Airport; a multi-media visitor information display system; poster spaces; and a traditional lion dance.

 

For conventions or exhibitions with over 300 overseas participants, there is a choice of a traditional

lion dance or a pipe band performance.

 

The new Virtual Market Place on the DKHY MICE website makes searching for and booking hotels and venues in Hong Kong easier than ever.

 

Meeting planners can use the new Request-for-Proposal (RFP) tool to view specific details on venues as well as perform searches for venues according to requirements (location, meeting room capacity details etc.).

 

By submitting the online form, the selected hotels and meeting venues will respond directly with any further details required.
